Christmas day was a mixture of high winds, a little bit of snow, and bitter temperatures. Today, the day after Christmas, was a little better and I couldn’t wait any longer to check the cameras. The cameras had been out for six days and I was eager to check them, especially the video cameras.
I didn’t have much in the way of still images. A coyote sauntered up the trail and I caught his backside. I also had a few interesting night time photos of a snowstorm.
But one of my video cameras had been moved about ninety degrees from North to West on the tree. One of the latches was partially open. I knew I had lion video. I checked the still image camera first. That camera had several partial shots of a young lion.
