Over a decade ago I had a mountain lion in the Never Summer Wilderness Range of Colorado sneak up to my slumbering form on a high ridge to check me out. I wasn't attacked. I never did see the lion but the fresh tracks with the claws extended exposed what occurred. The lion bumped my face as I slept and then ran behind me as I bolted upright. Since then, I've been interested in learning all I can about these top predators. Off The Pavement was born out of a fascination of all things wild and a way to share my remote photography efforts with people who may never see a mountain lion or other top predator in their lifetime. I'm focused on leveraging my knowledge and photography skills to support wildlife conservation efforts worldwide, to engage the public in a powerful, meaningful way, and to support natural resource research at large.
